Qwest Grants
Teachers serving in private or public school districts within the Qwest local service area are eligible to apply for a new grant opportunity. If you missed the information in our November newsletter, we have partnered with Qwest to provide classroom teacher grants for up to $5,000 each. The details are on the web site, but the deadline is the same as our other contests--January 25, 2010. Eligible communities are listed on our web site. If you are not in the Qwest service area, please check the link below for our grants that are open to all Nebraska K-12 teachers.

February Newsletter Includes Ballot and Code for Voting
When your newsletter arrives in early February, please check the ballot that lists those nominated for President-Elect, Secretary, and Board of Directors. Voting is only online. Your newsletter’s mailing label will have the voting code necessary when submitting your ballot. We encourage all members to vote!

NETA Conference Registration Opens February 1
Check our web site on February 1st as there will be a link for registering for NETA 2010! Your February newsletter should arrive soon after February 1st. There will be a printed registration form in the newsletter for faxing or mailing registrations.

NETA Conference Housing
We’ve just learned that the Embassy Suites rooms are already full. However, keep in mind that the Marriott Courtyard is also connected to the Conference Center. The Marriott provides free Internet access.

NETA Conference Info On Web
Check our web site for a list of workshops, keynote/featured speakers, and BYOL (bring your own laptop) sessions. BYOL sessions are free, but you need to register for them as need ticket to be admitted. Workshops have a fee and are located at ESU#3. A shuttle bus will be provided for Thursday-Friday workshops.
ISTE Conference Registration (formerly NECC):
The ISTE Conference (formerly NECC) will be held in Denver, CO June 27-30, 2010. Use the following link to register. Please choose NETA as your affiliate group so we receive your name as being registered and can alert you to Nebraska events during the conference.

There was not enough interest in chartering a bus to Denver for the June ISTE Conference.
