NETA Announces Free Membership
Gretna (NE), August, 2015 - Nebraska Educational Technology Association (NETA) members voted at their annual meeting on April 23, 2015 to no longer charge a membership fee.
“NETA’s purpose is to provide leadership and promote the application of technology to the educational process. Removing the barrier of a fee will help further meet NETA’s organizational purpose reaching more educators,” stated NETA’s Executive Director Julie Moore.
Membership is open to anyone who has an interest in administrative, educational, and instructional use of technology and who subscribe to the basic tenets of NETA as proclaimed in the NETA bylaws regardless of location. The NETA bylaws may be reviewed at www.netasite.org.
Individuals who attend NETA’s annual spring conference will receive all membership benefits, including a printed newsletter. Members not attending NETA’s annual spring conference have the opportunity to subscribe to the print newsletter for $35 per year.
The free dues membership structure has been adopted by several affiliates of the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE), based in Washington D.C. “For almost thirty years, Nebraska educators have been sharing their experiences and expertise through a variety of channels provided by NETA. We want to be able to bring those insights to as many educators as possible, both in Nebraska and surrounding states,” said Josh Allen, NETA’s President.
The Nebraska Educational Technology Association (NETA) is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization that provides leadership and promotes the application of technology to the educational process. Please visit netasite.org for more information about NETA.
