Finding Funding
in Your Own Back Yard

Money BagSupport dollars for you or your teachers to attend the NETA Conference may be closer than you think!

Is your school or district short on funds for professional development? In these tight budget times, finding partners outside of the school district can reap many rewards.

NETA has developed a ready-made “packet” for you to use in finding local companies, corporations or foundations to help fund your attendance at the NETA conference. A sample letter is included that a school and/or district could send to a company or philanthropic foundation respectfully requesting support for sending teachers and/or administrators to the NETA Spring Conference in Omaha.

Three documents are provided to help you find support:

1. NETA Conference Support Letter—This is a sample letter for you to customize and print on your own school letterhead (downloadable as a Microsoft Word document so that you can edit or modify it).

2. NETA Conference Supporter Form—the document schools/districts would include with their letter in which the company/foundation would state the ways they are willing to help with registration, substitute teachers, mileage, and/or lodging and return to you (downloadable as an Acrobat PDF file).

3. A one-page NETA flyer that briefly describes the organization and its goals (downloadable as an Acrobat PDF file).

Many companies/corporations don’t mind supporting their schools, it is just that they often times are more generous when they can support targeted uses and know exactly where those philanthropic dollars are going.

Contact NETA board member Joe LeDuc for questions about these partnership ideas.

Good luck finding your new partners!
